A POOL TABLE is “LEVEL” ~ FLOORs are “FLAT AND SMOOTH"

    Why "Concrete Self-Level"?

"Concrete self-level" is a widely used generic floor covering industry term which refers to creating a flat and smooth concrete sub-floor in order to correct unevenness, repair damaged concrete, and provide a flat, smooth and durable surface ready to receive new finishes.

These flowable polymer-modified toppings have the ability to smooth without troweling, making them an excellent solution for creating a flat and smooth surface on either worn/uneven existing concrete or in new construction during Division 3 work to provide a Division 9 ready surface over a newly poured concrete floor.  Polymer-modified toppings are quickly becoming popular due to their ability to shorten overall construction times, reduce project costs, and with ZERO silica dust contamination when pumped.

ASTM E1155 Standard Test Method for Determining FF Flatness and FL Levelness Numbers, pertaining primarily to cast-in-place concrete floors is the standard for defining Flat and Level standards.  99% of all construction projects only require "Flat and Smooth" where "Level" might be required in a research and development laboratory or similar application.
